Position Description – Water Front Assistant

Objective or Purpose:

To provide a safe, enjoyable aquatic experience for campers and staff.

Qualifications:

Duties:

attends pre-camp training sessions
supervises aquatic activities at the waterfront
participates in all camp activities
gives attention to life guarding while on duty
assists in testing camper and staff swimming ability
provides lessons to all who desire
assists with directing buddy system
reports any damage or breakage of equipment to waterfront director
teaches proper safety and use of canoes and kayaks
follows emergency waterfront procedures
daily cleanup of boathouse and surrounding areas
has a resource of waterfront activities to be used during swim times or on rainy days
provides programming during inclement weather
stays for cleanup of own sleeping quarters and boathouse
checks safety equipment for safety and wear and tear as required
